1. About

These terms govern your use of the LoveLincoln website (the “site”), operated by LoveLincoln. By using the site, you accept them.

2. Editorial independence

LoveLincoln has complete and absolute editorial control. We may publish, edit, decline, change or remove any story, photo, comment, listing, submission, advertisement or account at any time, for any reason or for no reason, without notice, explanation or liability. All editorial and moderation decisions are final.

3. Advertising, listings and sponsorship

We may accept, refuse, edit or remove any advertisement, job, event or sponsorship for any reason and without giving one. Accepting an advertiser is not an endorsement. We do not guarantee any particular placement, audience, result or uninterrupted display. Prices are as shown at the time of booking. LoveLincoln is not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Payments are taken via Stripe. As our advertising customers are businesses, statutory consumer cooling-off rights do not apply; refunds or credits are at our discretion.

4. Your content

If you submit anything — a comment, shout-out, photo, news tip or listing — you confirm it is yours to share and is not unlawful, and you give us permission to publish, store and display it on the site and in related promotion. You are responsible for what you submit. We may remove it at any time under section 2.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the site unlawfully; do not post anything false, defamatory, offensive or infringing; and do not disrupt the site, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or scrape it without our permission.

6. Your thoughts

Thoughts appear under your real name and are on the record. LoveLincoln is a celebration of the city, so keep it kind — this is not the place to relitigate a grievance with a business or a person in the story. Your first contribution is read by a person before it appears. We remove abuse, personal attacks, spam and anything dredged up to sour a good-news story, and you can report a thought using the link beneath it. Thoughts close 60 days after a story is published, and we may close a story sooner. We may withdraw commenting, or an account, from anyone who misuses it.

7. Our content

The site, its design, brand and our original content belong to LoveLincoln and are protected by law. You may read and share links freely, but please do not republish our content without permission.

8. Liability

The site is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from anything published on it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to its courts.
